Contact Processes on Fragmented Domains

چکیده
Motivated by recent findings of enhanced species survival when fragmented habitats are reconnected through narrow strips land [S. Pimm, and C. N. Jenkins, Am. Sci. {\bf 107}(3), 162 (2019).], we study the effect a corridor connecting two square regions on time three models exhibiting extinction/survival phase transitions: basic contact process (CP), diffusive process, two-species symbiotic (2SCP). We find that generally increases for $\lambda\ge \lambda_c$, where $\lambda$ is reproduction rate $\lambda_c$ its critical value. The enhancement with $\lambda$, largest in 2SCP.

On Contact Processes in Continuum
We introduce a continuous version of the contact model which is well-known and widely studied in the lattice case. Under certain general assumptions on the infection spreading characteristics we construct the contact process as a Markov process in the configuration space of the system. 2000 AMS Mathematics Subject Classification: 60K35, 60J75, 60J80, 82C21, 82C22

() = ⎨⎩ 0 if = 0 if = 1 2 if = 2 and 0 is a fixed parameter. This process is a simple model of the spread of an infectious disease [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. An individual at ∈ Z is infected if ∈ and healthy if ∈ . Healthy individuals become infected at a rate which is proportional to the number of infected neighbors. Infected individuals recover at rate 1. As increases fr...
متن کاملAnisotropic Contact Processes on Homogeneous Trees
Sufficient conditions for the existence of a weak survival phase are given for an anisotropic contact process on a homogeneous tree. These require that the contact process be homogeneous, that is, for any two vertices x, y of the tree there is an automorphism mapping x to y leaving the infection rates invariant; and that the contact process be weakly symmetric, that is, for each vertex there sh...
متن کاملContact Processes on Scale - free Networks ∗
We investigate the contact process on random graphs generated from the configuration model for scale-free complex networks with the power law exponent β ∈ (2, 3]. Using the neighborhood expansion method, we show that, with positive probability, any disease with an infection rate λ > 0 can survive for exponential time in the number of the vertices of the graph. This strongly supports the view th...
متن کاملContact Processes on Random Regular Graphs
We show that the contact process on a random d-regular graph initiated by a single infected vertex obeys the “cutoff phenomenon” in its supercritical phase. In particular, we prove that, when the infection rate is larger than the lower critical value of the contact process on the infinite d-regular tree, there are positive constants C, p depending on the infection rate such that for any ε > 0, ...
